The Minister of Finance, Planning and Industry exercises general control and direction. The administrative head of the Ministry is the Permanent Secretary. There is also a deputy Permanent Secretary.

The Ministry is divided into the following departments:

A Department Head, who reports directly to the Permanent Secretary, manages each department.

Administration

The Administration Department comprises the following units:

• Insurance and Banking
• Corporate Communications

Insurance and Banking, Corporate Communications and General Administration report directly to the Permanent Secretary while the other units report through the Senior Administrative Officer.

Accountant General Department

The Accountant General Department comprises of the following units:

• Accounts
• Treasury
• Other Accounts
• Information Technology Unit

This department is headed by the Account General and Deputy Accountant General. Each unit reports to the Accountant General through a Senior Officer.

Inland Revenue Department

This Department is headed by the Comptroller of Inland Revenue and the Deputy Comptroller. The department comprises of the following units, each headed by a senior official:

• Audit, Assessment and Objection – headed by the Deputy Comptroller
• Enforcement and Collection – headed by the Assistant Comptroller
• Registration and Information Technology – headed by the Assistant Comptroller
• Cashiering Function and Taxpayer Services – headed by the Assistant Comptroller
• Valuation – headed by the Valuation Officer.

Each unit Head reports to the Comptroller of Inland Revenue.

Department of Customs and Excise

This Department is headed by the Comptroller of Customs with four (4) Deputy Comptrollers.

The Department comprises of the following units:

• Point Salines International Airport
• St. George's Port
• Grenville and Carriacou
• Enforcement
• Entry Processing Unit
• General Office
• Accounts

Each unit is managed by a Supervisor of Customs who reports to a Deputy Comptroller of Customs.

Economic Affairs

This department is headed by the Director of Economic Affairs who reports to the Deputy Permanent Secretary.

The department is divided into the following units:

• Budget and Debt Management
• Projects and Development Cooperation
• Macro Economics and Policy Research
• Trade and Industry

Each unit is headed by a Chief Officer.

Statistics Department

This department is headed by the Director of Statistics who reports to the Permanent Secretary.

The department is divided into the following units:

• Economic Statistics
• Trade Statistics
• Census Survey
• Social Statistics
• Price and Consumer Affairs

Each unit is headed by a supervisor.

Physical Planning Unit

The Physical Planning Unit consists of two closely aligned sections:

• Forward Planning
• Development Control

The Department is headed by the Senior Planning Officer who reports to the Permanent Secretary.

Government Printery

This Department is headed by a Manager and consists of four units:

• Composing
• Binding
• Stationery
• Plant superintendent's area

Each unit is headed by a supervisor.
