The Ministry of Finance, in pursuit of its mission, has a wide mandate with responsibility for:

• Debt management
• Economic policy formation

• Trade policy administration and promotion
• Supporting decision-making processes in the public and private sectors

The Ministry's role brings the organization into contact with all Ministries, Government departments and sectors in society. The Ministry's operations are the subject of several laws and regulations including the Finance and Audit Act (governing budgetary operations and debt management).
